Cesare Borgia was an Italian politician and condottiero of Valencian (Spanish) origin, whose fight for power was a major inspiration for The Prince by Machiavelli. He was an illegitimate son of Pope Alexander VI and member of the Spanish-Aragonese House of Borgia.
