Évora is a city and a municipality in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 56,596, in an area of 1307.08 km2. It is the historic capital of the Alentejo and serves as the seat of the Évora District. The present Mayor is Carlos Pinto de Sá of the CDU coalition. The municipal holiday is 29 June.
