Attraction to fictional young girls

Lolicon (ロリコン), also romanized as rorikon, is Japanese discourse or media centered on an attraction to young girl characters. The term, a portmanteau of the phrase "Lolita complex", describes this attraction to fictional girls, an individual with such an attraction, or the lolicon genre of media such as manga and anime, in which "lolis" are often depicted in an aesthetic of "cute eroticism". Within this context of otaku subculture, lolicon is distinct from an attraction to realistic representations of girls, or real girls as such.
