USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) is a starship in the Star Trek media franchise. It is the main setting of the original Star Trek television series, and it has also been depicted in spinoffs, films, books, products, and fan-created media. Under the command of Captain James T. Kirk, the Enterprise carries its crew on a mission "to explore strange, new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before". The upcoming series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will depict the Enterprise led by Kirk's predecessor, Captain Christopher Pike.
